How It Works

See the viewfinder at the top of the detector? You look through it and hit the power button in the center of Scout- this makes the LEDs blink outward towards whatever you’re looking at.

The bright red light bounces off of pinhole camera lenses, which then goes back to the viewfinder you’re looking through. It looks like a red blinking light flashing back at you.

It’s very obvious when you’ve found a lens, which you can then closely investigate. If you don't see a pinpoint of red light, there's no camera lens there.

All products are under a 90 day warranty, with GPS trackers and Spy Cameras having a 1-year warranty. If you’re having trouble or think your product is acting up, get in touch with us as soon as possible and we’ll make it right.

Contact Us First

Please, do not send us anything without first contacting us! It’s very difficult on our customer care team when we get packages that we’re not expecting. They usually have no name, order number, or reason for return. 

We’re not mind readers, unfortunately, so please get in touch with us first!

Make sure that when you send us a return you include everything that was sent to you, including packaging and accessories. They also need to be in original condition. Once your return is received, we’ll issue a full credit on your card. If it’s an exchange, we’ll ship out the replacement product.

If you return your product without first contacting us and getting an RMA, or your return does not meet the conditions above, a 15% fee will be deducted from your refund.

Some of our items aren’t refundable. The reason is unfortunate - we've had customers out there who buy from us to quickly to get the answers they want, and then return the items to get a refund. The product, it solved their problem, and now they don’t want it anymore. 

It's an underhanded tactic that’s difficult to fight, and we can’t stay in business by being a rental company. Because of this, we aren’t able to offer refunds on the following products:

How does it work?

Scout shines a light that bounces light off of camera lenses. That light is reflected back at your eye, which looks like a blinking pinpoint of light, revealing the lens.
How long do the batteries last?

A very long time. With regular use, it should last years.
What's the return policy?

It's a 30-day return period, no questions asked. Scout comes with a lifetime warranty. If anything goes wrong, you can reach out to us by phone, live chat, or email on SpyGuy.
How do I use the pinhole lens?

Hold the ribbon on the practice lens at arm's length so the camera is looking at you. Use Scout on the lens and you'll see the red pinpoint of light bouncing off. You can also test this on any doorbell camera or security camera for even better results.

    Excellent Hidden Spy Camera Detector

    I several years ago purchased a different hidden spy camera detector but I believe that the Scout hidden spy camera detector to be much better. The Scout is much more compact than the other detector but, at the same time, does an excellent job in finding hidden spy cameras. Also, the Scout can easily be slipped into a suitcase or pocket and be readily to do its job.
